Taking Back The Yellow

Every time this part of the year rolls around, a little light starts flickering. It's that feeling of joy that dares to peek its head out from under the rock. We're on the upswing and daylight is getting longer and the craziness of the season has quieted. It's the calm before the sunshiny storm and I can't help but feel inspired.

I pulled my Universe book out from under the coffee table recently, and I've been going back to it almost every night for the past few days. In it, the reader takes a journey all the way from Earth to the farthest reaches of the Universe that are possible to photograph with the most powerful telescopes known to man. And it boggles my mind every time. I look at the photographs, read about the approximate distances and sizes of these beautiful bright and shiny things and the power they emit and the temperatures they exist in, and I'm in awe. What a beautiful, powerful and full-of-life Universe we have.

Maybe that's another reason I'm so inspired. I can't help but marvel at the absolutely wonderful pretty things up there above us (around us, beside us, etc). Say what you will, that it's all a big accident, but I'm sorry, I cannot believe that. I just can't. Space is a canvas, God's playground, with stars being born and exploding and galaxies spinning. And it's so huge we cannot comprehend it. It makes me realize how tiny I am, how insignificant my struggles, worries and problems are and how easy it might be to maintain a little peace in the heart.

Life has been inexplicably tougher lately, but thanks to recent inspirations and adventures into a book about our ever-changing Universe, I feel lighter, ready to take back the happiness and the bright and the hope I crave so much all the time. In another few months, I'll be busting out the yellow from my closet completely. I cannot wait.
