Spring Has Sprung
It occurred to me the other day that I haven't written on this blog for a while. I began asking myself why that was, and then I realized... the sun has been out!
It's no secret that when you go through nearly nine months of grey, drizzle and fog, you're particularly anxious to get out and live life when the sun finally bursts through the clouds. I've been out and about, loving life and experiencing things and exploring places I'd never seen before. So far, 2012 has felt like an incredible year, and I swear I feel like something is lurking around the corner, something wonderful, something fabulous and huge. There's that song in West Side Story that says it perfectly: Who knows? It's only just out of reach, down the block, on a beach, under a tree. I got a feeling there's a miracle due, gonna come true, coming to me!
Is it just the newness everywhere? Is it just the pink blossoms on the trees that make the world so surreal this time of year? Is it the songs the birds are singing again? Whatever it is, I feel confident, ready, and primed. With this confidence comes inspiration, and with inspiration comes creativity in abundance. I've been taking advantage by working on music consistently, almost religiously, and I'm so jazzed. I feel more comfortable in my own skin than I have in a while, maybe ever.
I can't imagine it's just me that feels this sensation. Step outside and see what the bright sunshine and crisp newness has to offer you! It's the time of graduations and road trips, beautiful trees and colorful flowers. Embrace it, live it, love it.
