Sunshiny 365

"2015?! You mean we're in the future!"

I remember when Marty McFly exclaimed those words to Doc Brown, and it felt like 2015 would never, ever really exist. It's hard to believe we're there!

Maybe it's just me, but 2015 feels like a year of special significance. We're halfway through the 2010's (already), so naturally it feels like a good time to completely reevaluate and make necessary changes. 2015 is also the year I'm planning to do something major with my music.

Yes, shinies; I'm on my way! An entire albums worth of material is just about ready for vocals, and I cannot contain my excitement to record them. After months and months of vocal struggles (diminished range, pain, tension), I'm starting new treatment that will hopefully nix everything.

Nix: I've found myself using that word a lot lately. I don't usually choose a word for the year, but I may this time, and it might be 'nix'. Sure, it would be an unusual choice, but that's what makes it interesting. It's a negative word, putting an end to something, denying, nothing. But in putting an end to something, you can also start something else. Where there's an end, there's a beginning. And that excites me.

In addition to recording, I'm also hoping to start performing live again! This is a big, big step, and one that I've been wanting to do for a long while. Wish me luck as I start reaching out to venues a bit later in the year!

With all of the new music developments, this also means new social stuff, including the addition of (finally) Instagram. Historically, I ignored Instagram, mostly because I didn't want to install another app. But more and more, I (love to) share photos, and what better app is there for that? So here it is, my shiny Instagram!

I'm also kicking off a big campaign that I hope to continue every day this year, and beyond. It's my Sunshiny 365 campaign, and every day I'll be sharing a bright/shiny/inspiring photo. I'll be tagging them #sunshiny365, and I invite you to share your own sunshiny goodness with the hashtag too!

And of course, more website updates will be coming; new design, new photos, new, new, new. I always love giving everything a refresh, and I can't wait.

So get your shiny on, and keep it bright! The best is coming...
