Get Real (For Real)
I love sharing things about the world that make it a bright and beautiful place. I love talking about sunsets, ice cream, laughing and music. In a way, I'm sharing the things I love most in life, but I don't often directly share details about myself. I haven't consciously been withholding information, but I haven't been trying to share much either.
A couple of posts ago, I mentioned the need to 'get real', and promised I'd share some information about me that makes me... me. The things that make me flawed, human, and define me. So here are the first of many things.
Confession one: I am a singer, but like many artists that don’t like to talk about anything other than their music in certain circles, I have a day job. As much as I try to hide it, I can’t deny the fact that I work in the marketing department at a defense company. I’ve actually learned a lot from the job that I can apply to my music career, and I’ve met some good people. Basically, music is my life and the job is just a job, but it’s a pretty honorable job to have in the meantime.
Confession two: I was an Everquest junkie. This might strike some people as odd, but once upon a time I lived to play that game. I was a high-level wood elf bard who walked the forests in sky-colored plate armor and wielded two magical (glowing) swords. Oh yes, I looked awesome.
Confession three: I own the Titanic soundtrack.
That's all you get for now. That last confession is a bit of a cop out, but there are more things to share later.
